## The Mili & Molo method (how kids learn to read in Spanish)

A 4-step bilingual progression, from sounds to stories:

1. **Vowels** — learn the five vowels (a, e, i, o, u) with sounds, songs, and visual flashcards.
2. **Syllables** — combine each consonant with the vowels (ma, me, mi, mo, mu) and read syllables aloud.
3. **Words** — join syllables to read first full words, supported by bilingual pictures.
4. **Sentences & stories** — move from words to sentences and short stories, building fluency and comprehension in Spanish and English.

Spanish is highly phonetic and regular, so many families build reading in Spanish first and then transfer the skill to English.
